Last friday, June 14th, 2024, the CisWEFE-NEX project held its official virtual Kick-Off Meeting (KoM) with all project partners. The meeting marked the beginning of an important initiative aimed at tackling severe water stress through the integration of circular systems in the Water-Energy-Food-Ecosystems (WEFE) Nexus, with a focus on the CCRI Demonstrator.
The meeting was hosted by BIOAZUL, the project coordinator, and attended by Vessela Stoyanova-Monteleone, the project officer. During the meeting, a comprehensive overview of the CisWEFE-NEX project was provided, detailing the objectives and key outcomes expected from the initiative. The project aims to address critical water challenges by developing and demonstrating sustainable solutions within the WEFE Nexus.
The meeting also served as an introduction for all project partners, who presented their respective roles and contributions to the project. This collaborative effort brings together a diverse group of partners, each bringing their expertise to advance the project’s goals in water management, sustainability, and circular economy practices.
With the official start of the CisWEFE-NEX project, partners will begin working together to address the challenges of water stress through innovative and sustainable solutions. The focus will be on developing the CCRI Demonstrator, which will play a key role in showcasing the potential of circular approaches to managing water, energy, food, and ecosystem interactions.
The project is now underway, and stakeholders can look forward to further updates as the work progresses.
